About Sanchita Smriti Samaj Bikash Kendra

It is like a saga of an untimely Death of a burgeoning youth has given Birth to a Socio-Culture Organisation in the loving memory of "SANCHITA ROY" who was the only child of her parents who developed Renal problem but succumbed to the kidney operation as the 10th September, 1992.

Sanchita was belonged to a large score of people including her teachers, Classmates & Playmates because of her acumen in different fields viz. Athletics, Painting, Debate, Science-Modelling etc. in addition to her modest behaviour and good academic skill. With her sudden demise people of all ages shocked that they instantly resolved to found an were So organisation "SANCHITA SMRITI SAMAJ BIKASH KENDRA" with a specific motto and objectives as elucidated hereunder just to keep her memory alive among the kids and teenagers of the future generation and that has been rightly flowing through the decades:

“SANCHITA SMRITI SAMAJ BIKASH KENDRA’’ is a non-governmental organisation Registered Under West Bengal Societies Registration Act. XXVI of 1961 and Legacy Registration Number S/75108, New Registration Number SO075108, Date of Registration 24th Nov. 1993, Regd. Office in District- South 24 Parganas, State- West Bengal, India which undertakes disaster relief, humanitarian aid Rural Development, Social Welfare and community development in the different District of West Bengal. SANCHITA SMRITI SAMAJ BIKASH KENDRA (N.G.O) focuses on Rural Development and Social Welfare as a basic but unaddressed need.

SANCHITA SMRITI SAMAJ BIKASH KENDRA (N.G.O) works on many of rural development activities. Our approach is to ‘help people help themselves’ by making the disadvantaged self-reliant and enabling them to lead a life of dignity. This philosophy lays the Society for our programmes so that they have the buy-in of the entire community and are hence sustainable and effective.

Our all-embracing approach ensures that through the programmes we support, we reach out to diverse target groups that include children, women, men, the elderly, the disabled, and rural communities from the marginalised sections of society. Our strengths in institution building, management support, monitoring and evaluation make our projects scalable and sustainable.

In remote villages across South 24 Parganas District in West Bengal, In the last years we have covered 15th number of village. Even though our work is sector agnostic we see a deep direct impact on various issues like Water, Agriculture, Sanitation, Education, Menstrual hygiene, etc. and Access for the communities we work with. We treat these communities as our rural stakeholders and put the decision making on what issues will be prioritized, in their hands.
